A school where every student is fully seen.
Mill Neck Manor School for the Deaf has served Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students from infancy through high school graduation since 1951. We are a New York State 4201 chartered school — providing bilingual ASL/English education, full access to communication, and a community where every student belongs.
Cultivate the potential in every student.
Mill Neck Manor School for the Deaf values the learning styles, communication modalities, and cultures of each individual student. The mission of our programs is to cultivate the potential in every student to thrive as a contributing member of society — and inspire a love of learning through direct access to communication.
We aim to challenge and empower students to determine their own path in life based on their unique skills and abilities, through a variety of provided opportunities — academic, vocational, athletic, artistic, and beyond.
What sets MNMSD apart.
Inside our classrooms.
Walk into any Mill Neck classroom and you will see something rare: a learning environment built — from the floor up — for full communication access. ASL flows alongside written English. Teachers and aides are fluent. Visual learning is the default, not an accommodation.
Every classroom is designed for sight lines, lighting, and intentional layout that supports Deaf education best practices. The result: students learn the way their brains naturally process information.
From first day to graduation.
Mill Neck students grow up here — from the youngest learners in the Parent Infant Program to the graduating seniors who walk across our stage each June. Along the way, they share milestones, friendships, and a community that knows them by sign name.
Our annual graduations — at every level — are highlights of our school year. Families, faculty, alumni, and community members gather to honor every student's journey.
From infancy through graduation.
Our continuum of programs supports Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing students at every stage — from the earliest days of language acquisition to college and career readiness.
