A day with purpose.
The Mill Neck Day Habilitation Program provides Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing adults with meaningful daytime programming — skill-building, community engagement, social connection, and personal goal pursuit, all in an ASL-immersed environment.
Habilitation built around the individual.
Day Habilitation at Mill Neck is not a one-size-fits-all program. Each participant works with our team to develop an individualized service plan — building on their interests, strengths, and goals. We focus on independence, communication, daily living skills, community participation, and personal enrichment.
Every staff member is fluent in American Sign Language, so participants communicate directly — no interpreter required. Our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are trained, certified, and dedicated to person-centered support.
What participants experience.

Who we serve.
The Day Habilitation Program serves Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing adults (18+) who are eligible for OPWDD (Office for People with Developmental Disabilities) services. Eligibility is determined through Front Door intake. We work with participants, families, and Care Coordinators to navigate the enrollment process.
If you are unsure about eligibility or how to access services, please reach out — we'll help you understand your options and next steps.
